Thuja Occidentalis Smaragd

Thuja Occidentalis SmaragdThuja occidentalis Smaragd I planted last year. some die can someone tell me how to save them?.

We do not plant them properly and watering them every day. The middle of them are brown. I scoured around the bottom and put bone meal and Food and raked together and hardened. Is there anything else I do? When we planted we have the land and sheep manure.

I do not know if this will help explain things or not.

They do not like the shade.
old foliage from the middle always turns brown and dies off and falls throughthe middle.
Maybe brown well in the cold, but should be back to green any time now.

There are few pests that can harm it:
Arborvitae leafminer mines at the end of the leaves, causing them to brown. translucent areas are seen where the minor has been active.
Scales of several types infest the stems and foliage. Sprays of horticultural oil to control overwintering stages.
The mites cause yellowing and speckling of the foliage. Mites are rarely noticed because they are so small.
Bagworms can devour large quantities of foliage very quickly.
leaf blight causes brown spots on leaves in spring. The affected foliage appears burned, then drops.

The environment could be turning brown by a number of things. Have you checked the mites. Also the centers could not get enough sun and thus browning. Continue to water the dry only, no more fertilizer should be added. Check if drainage is good, the roots of Thuja do not stay in the water or the roots will rot and you can see browing leaves in this case also.
If the sheep manure has not aged well before it was added, it could burn the leaves and cause the symptoms you describe also.
