Steel Earrings

I'm allergic to earrings, even if it is 14 or 10K gold. If I'm wearing earrings, surgical steel, I would not have problems? Anyone experienced the same problem as me?

They say they are hypoallergenic, so I give it a try. I'm in the same boat, all of my skin is allergic to cheap metals (among others) and hesitated to attempt the surgical steel. I have not had any problems with the hot topic 16 g barbell surgery, but I had problems with other brands.
