.. Claddagh Ring? Five years ago I went to Ireland and was told there are different ways to wear a Claddagh ring by social status (single, married, engaged) .. Is this true? how to wear it then? Thank you :-)
1: the right hand of the heart: single
2: right, the heart in: going out with someone
3: left hand on the heart: activity
4. the left hand, in the heart: Married.
Lately, and thanks to the revival of small cultural awareness among its Irish American descendants, the Claddagh has become an ornament to the method of choice and romantic memories. Traditionally, the ring is worn on the left hand with the heart pointing to the wrist as a symbol that the heart of the wearer is given to the other. If the heart is "proven" to the fingers, it shows the carrier hopes to one day find true love. For the tradition, the words "the love and friendship reign" are spoken during the presentation of the ring.

Understand that how you wear the ring, sends a message about your relationship status.
Show that your heart is open or available by wearing the ring right hand with the heart facing out, or to your nail.
Wear the ring on his right hand in friendship before marriage, with the heart facing inward toward your wrist. This shows that your heart is taken.
Put the ring on left ring finger during the wedding ceremony, to show that two hearts have been joined forever. Make sure that the heart back inside.
Ireland (and other parts of Europe) and wedding rings are worn on the right hand - the left in America is for most people spend on the sides in America with the claddagh and ...
So based on that of America, if you wear them with the crown facing it means you're single ... the heart in ways you are caught ... on your left the crown in the means employed and the heart in ways married
If you are single, then the heart points outward on your right (indicating that your heart is available).
If you're in a relationship, it goes on the right with the heart turned inwards (the heart is taken for the moment).
If you are hired, it goes on the left hand (ring finger) with the outside of the heart.
If you are married, it goes to the left ring finger with the heart to the inside (the heart is taken forever).
I am in Northern Ireland, and I have, it's just one of those things, they are pretty and they are mythical story that allows you to express your status
The crown represents loyalty, the heart represents love (do not remember what the hands are.

Back in the day would be brides also wear a horseshoe with the wedding ends up to stop the chance to run out and then you turn on your door.
bring the head down (my heart face the tip of your finger) on a finger, it means that your single. wear it like that on your left ring finger means employed. bring it right up so at heart is toward the bottom of your hand on any finger means "take". it was like that on your left.
