Cheap Jewellery

I often buy gold jewelry at low prices in the shops of High Street. However, often the color of faded gold and the metal is left of a coppery-bronze color. Is there any way I can prevent this or get the jewelry back to its original golden color?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I like some of my jewelry cheap, even more than my real jewelry price!

I love my cheapo too, but they are turning my fingers green!
Before wearing them, I paint them with clear nail polish. Usually two layers to prevent chips and I never turn green again!

Keep the jewels in a bag when not in use such as exposure to chemicals in the air is what causes tarnishing.

Try to put your tarnished jewelry in a bowl with a little hot water, salt and baking soda, which can remove most of the tarnish
